Nathalie Marin besluttede at gå dirigentvejen efter at hun havde afsluttet sine studier på konservatoriet i Lyon (klaver, klarinet, harmoni, kontrapunkt og musikteori). Hun tog master class i direktion ved South Tennessee universitet. Herefter blev hun tilknyttet Sewanee Chamber Orchestra. På dette tidspunkt blev hun støttet af Mr Otto Werner Mueller (professor ved Juillard School of New York), som inviterede hende til sin skole "Domaine Forget" i Canada.
Med stor interesse for komposition tog hun et kursus i nutidig musik hos Mr Peter Oetvos og blev udvalgt til at lede den afsluttende koncert ved Bartok Festival i Zombathely (Ungarn). Hun afsluttede sin uddannelse hos Jean Claude Hartemann, hvor hun fik et legat i sang-repertoiret.
Siden 1991 har Nathalie Marin været kunstnerisk leder af "Ensemble Orchestral de l'Isère", et orkester hvis struktur giver muligheder for at opføre musik lige fra kammermusik til fuld symfoniorkester-størrelse, og som støttes af det franske kulturministerium. Med dette meget professionelle ensemble har hun givet koncerter forskellige steder i Frankrig, omfattende et meget varierende repertoire (symfonisk, sang- og kor-værker). Hun bliver nu inviteret til at dirigere forskellige orkestre og festival-orkestre (Lyon, Grenoble...). Fra 1994 til 1996 var hun første gæstedirigent ved "Rencontres Lyriques de Luchon".
Nathalie Marin mødte Mr Michel Tabachnik i Geneve og blev hans assistent til orkester-prøvearbejde. Via dette kom hun til at dirigere "Israel Young Philharmonic Orchestra" på en tourne bl a til "Festival de Verbier" (schweiz) og i Rom, Warszawa, Paris, Geneve, Bratislava...
I maj 1995 overlod Madanme Francois Mitterand ansvaret for en velgørenhedskoncert til fordel for "Foundation France Liberté" i Paris til Nathalie Marin.
Hun studerer nu direktion på 3. år ved Det kgl Danske Musikkonservatorium i København. Hun dirigerede "Empreintes" af I. Xeniakis med konservatorieorkestret under overværelse af komponisten. Hun har dirigeret Sjællands symfoniorkester og andre professionelle orkestre i Danmark (Aarhus, Aalborg...). Hun har også samarbejdet med danske amatørorkestre.
After finishing her studies at the "Conservatoire National de Lyon" (piano, clarinette, harmony, contrepoint and musicology), Nathalie Marin decided go become a conductor. She left for United States to take Master Classes in conducting (University of South Tennessee) where she obtained her diploma. Forllowing this, she was hired by Sewanee Chamber Orchestra for concerts.
From this point Nathalie Marin was encouraged by Mr Otto Werner Mueller (professor at the Juillard School of New York) who invited her to his seminary in the "Domaine Forget" in Canada.
Much interested in creation, she took a course in contemporary music with Mr Peter Oetvos and was chosen to conduct the final concert of the Bartok Festival in Zombathely (Hungary). She completed her training with Jean Claude Hartemann acquiring a foundation in the lyric repertoire.
Since 1991, Nathalie Marin has been artistic director of the "Ensemble Orchestral de l'Isère", an orchestra whose structure permits variations from the chamber group to full symphony orchestra and which is subsided by the Ministry of Culture. With this highly qualified group she has given concerts through'out France performing works from an extremely diversified repertoire (symfonic, lyric and oratorio). She is now invited to conduct by various orchestras and festivals (Lyon, Grenoble...).
From 1994 to 1996, she has been the principal guest conductor for the "Rencontres Lyriques de Luchon".
Nathalie Marin met Mr Michel Tabachnik in Geneva and became his assistant for orchestral rehearsal. Through this, she came to conduct "Israel Young Philharmonic Orchestra" on their tour, at the "Festival de Verbier" (Switzerland) as well as Rome, Warsaw, Paris, Geneva, Bratislava...
In May 1995, Madame Francois Mitterand entrusted Nathalie Marin with the Charity Concert for the "Fondation France Liberté" in Paris.
She is now a conducting student (third year) at the "Danish Royal Academy" in Copenhagen. She conducted "Empreintes" by I. Xenakis with the "Royal Danish Academy's Orchestra" in presence of the composer. She conducted the "Sjaellands Symphonic Orchestra and other professional orchestras in Denmark (Aarhus, Aalborg...). She is also invited by some Danish amateur orchestras.
