Simon Casali-Krzentowski (dirigent, født 1979)

begyndte som 11-årig på Utecht School of the Arts i Holland, hvor han studerede hos Joyce Tan. Seks år senere begyndte han at studere komposition hos Henk Alkema, og senere påbegyndte han også dirigentstudiet hos Kenneth Montomery og Jurjen Hempel. Undervejs studerede han også ved Haags konservatorium. Derudover har han studeret hos Ed Spanjaard, Jorma Panula, Benjamin Zander og János Fürst. Endvidere har han studeret ved musik-fakultetet på Utrecht universitet. For tiden studerer han ved Musikkonservatoriet i København hos Frans Rasmussen og Giancarlo Andretta samt ved Sibelius akademiet i Helsinki som elev af Leif Segerstam og Jorma Panula. 

I Holland har han ved mange lejligheder dirigeret Utrecht Academy Orchestra og Den hollandske Nationalopera i 2005. Desuden har han dirigeret i Harlem, Breda, Apeldoorn og Arnhem. Dertil har han dirigeret strygeorkestre og været korinstruktør til Bachs Juleoratorium og adskillige Mozart-operaer. Udenlands har han dirigeret Litauens nationalorkester, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Szeged Symfoniorkester i Ungarn, Sønderjyllands, Odense og Århus symfoniorkester. Han er desuden med-grundlægger af af Hafnia kammerorkester. I 2004 assisterede han Thomas Dausgaard og det svenske kammerorkester i produktion af Beethovens 9. symfoni og Michael Jurowski og Aalborg symfoniorkester i Strauss' Ein Heldenleben.

Simon Casali-Krzentowski (b. 1979) was accepted at the age of 11 into the violin class at the 
Utrecht School of the Arts in The Netherlands, were he studied with Joyce Tan. Six years later he 
started his composition studies with Henk Alkema, which he later combined with orchestral 
conducting, taught by Kenneth Montgomery and Jurjen Hempel. Before finishing composition (2003) and 
conducting (2004) he was a guest student at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague for two years. For 
many years he took private lessons with Ed Spanjaard and attended master classes of Jorma Panula, 
Benjamin Zander and János Fürst. For two years Simon Casali-Krzentowski studied at the musicology 
department of the University of Utrecht. At the moment he is a student at the Royal Danish Academy 
of Music of Copenhagen, as a pupil of Frans Rasmussen and Giancarlo Andretta, and at the Sibelius 
Academy in Helsinki, as a pupil of Leif Segerstam and guest teacher Jorma Panula. His studies 
abroad were made possible by generous donations of the Willem Mengelberg Fonds and by obtaining 
scholarships of the prestigious VSB Beurs and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. 

In The Netherlands he assisted on many occasions the Utrecht Academy Orchestra which led to an 
invitation to assist the Nationale Reisopera in 2005. He performed with several symphony orchestras 
in Haarlem, Breda, Apeldoorn and Arnhem. Besides that he was the conductor of two string orchestras 
in Utrecht and worked with singers conducting Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and several Mozart operas.

Outside of his homecountry Simon Casali-Krzentowski has conducted the National Symphony Orchestra 
of Lithuania, the London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, the Szeged Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, the 
Sønderjyllands Symphony Orchestra, the Odense Symphony Orchestra, the Århus Symphony Orchestra and 
is the co-founder of the Hafnia Chamber Orchestra. In 2004 he assisted Thomas Dausgaard and the 
Swedish Chamber Orchestra with the production of Beethoven’s Choral Symphony and Michael Jurowski 
and the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra with R. Strauss Ein Heldenleben.
